Happy, Happy 2010!
Today, much to my delight, I received this in my inbox! Thank you, thank you, thank you Michael and Amelie! What a way to start off 2010...life is good!

We are toasting you on our 23rd anniversary in Austin, Texas, as my wife wears your beautiful 'Winter Fish Eye' neckpiece. It looks good and sounds good. We love the dissarray of the silver connectors, which have will of their own. And of course the beads are a delight, each one. We were glad to discover your work at <Art On Fifth>.

End of year resolution!
For the rest of 2009 I resolve to update my blog! O.k., that being said...I resolve in 2010 to continually update my blog!!!
Why you ask? Who cares? Well, according to my blog stats lots of folks around the globe regularly read my blog and that's a good thing, I guess!
My blog is the social media outlet that I am the most comfortable with...I have a facebook page (maryvsmith) and tweet to my twitter (maryvsmith) but my blog is where I can post info/location of art fairs in will be in, gallery representation and my glass beadmaking teaching schedule.
2009 was a crazy busy successful year...hence the looong spans between blog updates! Really a good, legit excuse! Every art fair that I participated in...57th Street (Chicago, Il), Des Moines Art Festival (Des Moines, IA), St. Louis Art Fair (St. Louis, MO) and Peoria Fine Art Fair (Peoria, IL)...all were good for me. Good sales...new friends...time to reconnect, share a laugh and a beverage with old friends! Life is good!

2009 Saul Bell Design Award!
On Saturday, May 30, 2009 in Las Vegas I was awarded my 3rd Saul Bell Design Award! My neckpiece titled, "Carmelized" took 2nd place in the Bead category! You can read more about it here: Saul Bell Design Award. as well as view the other winners!

Mother's Day Trunk Show
Craft Alliance Delmar Gallery is having a Mother's Day Trunk Show featuring my jewelry! My jewelry will be showcased along with Annie Scheumbauer's Hand-Painted silk scarves from April 28-May 10th.
